My Favourite Arty Places in Lisbon

This issue was voted by you on my Instagram stories; My favourite arty places in Lisbon.

This is a list of places which inspire me, excite me or where I buy my art pieces for my home and friends. I hope in a years time I’ll have more places to add, but for now I think it’s quite a good list if you’re visiting Lisbon :)

MY FAVOURITE ARTY PLACES

1. Anjos 70 Market

This is a market you might recognise because it’s the main one I’ve sold at in the past. The market is a mixture of vintage clothes, art from all spectra, environmental goods and food. There are also surprise stalls like plants and second hand books, but ultimately it’s a very informal, arty vibe. Their handle is @anjos.70 Make sure to check it out for times and venues.

2. It’s a Book

This is actually a children’s book store, however, if you’re into illustration it’s great for inspiration and also zines. On the same street is one of my favourite cafés, Moko veggie cafe.

3. Fabrica Features (above Benetton)

This is a hidden pop-up store on the fourth floor of Chiado Benetton. There you will find illustration prints for sale from Portugal’s finest illustrators, books and design goods. It’s a really good place to treat yourself to arty things.

4. Under the Cover

This is an specialist and design magazine store located near the Gulbenkian museum. You can find great city guides too. Everything is beautifully designed.

5. The Gulbenkian

This is a staple of Lisbon. They also have a discount for under 30s and over 65s, and they’re free the first Sunday of every month. I recommend the temporary exhibitions once you’ve seen the main. Also the gardens and buildings are very inspirational

6. Open House

This is not a place but rather an event. It takes place for one weekend, once a year. Like Open House in other countries, it’s a tour guide of architecturally significant places in the capital.
